"In most cases, the representation of mountains in cinema is idealised. Moreover, the majority of the thematic festivals present numerous documentaries, in which it is the heroic aspect of the conquest of the mountain by the climbers that emerges. But how many films, be they fiction or documentaries, are dedicated to 'real' people who live in the mountains, and who live and work with great sacrifice in the summer pastures? Not many... The life of these mountaineers is very different to that of the heroes and/or postcard stereotype (fleur bleue) that mountain cinema has continued to present us with over the past few years."
