Gar O'Rourke

Gar is an award-winning Irish director currently based in Dublin. His work spans across documentary, commercials, music videos & art films. He has directed projects for clients such as Netflix, Visa, Patagonia, Sony, Everlast, Dyson, CBS' Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Irish Museum of Modern Art. His debut film - Kachalka - was selected to compete in over 20 Oscar-qualifying film festivals internationally including Hot Docs, Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs, and Aspen Shortsfest. It was later acquired by MUBI and also received a Vimeo Staff Pick. In 2022, Gar is in development on his first feature documentary, a tragicomedy that takes place in a Soviet-era sanatorium in southern Ukraine.
