Filmed over six years, After a Revolution is the intimate story of two siblings struggling to rebuild their lives after fighting on opposite sides of the Libyan revolution. As they raise their children amongst the chaos, they witness their country’s explosive course from rebellion to elections to the edge of civil war, and experience at close range the human impact of conflict and international intervention.

"In Libya, two siblings put their heart and soul into the future of their country during the 2011 revolution, but each on a different side: he supported Gaddafi, she was one of the “rebels”. Now belonging to the ruling class, she is again standing up for the oppressed and seeking rehabilitation for people like her brother. We follow these fervent, resilient siblings over six years, during which she stands for elections and he struggles with the traumas of war.
Intimate scenes of everyday life with their children contrast with fierce discussions at political meetings. The aftermath of the revolution is far from over, and as a proxy war ensues, these siblings persist in their fight for the country they love. This not only affects his careful restoration of a shrine previously destroyed by extremists, but also the safety of her and their young family. As brother and sister receive threats from all sides and flee to Tunisia, their disillusionment grows as they contemplate the repercussions of war and the fragility of democracy. When your country has been torn apart, how do you rebuild from the wreckage?"
