Résumé
À la fin du XIXe siècle, à Rio de Janeiro, quelques musiciens esquissèrent les premiers mélanges de mélodies européennes (valses, polkas), de rythmes afro-brésiliens associés à leur interprétation mélancolique de la musique indienne : le choro était né.
Rio de Janeiro at sunset. The edges of the metropolis appear against the background of a guitar and a clarinet playing together. This is the beginning of a trip into the world of choro, a musical style that originated in the colonial times, during the first intercontinental exchanges, and that stands for the soul of Brazil and a personification of its cosmopolitan culture. One by one, its most famous rep-resentatives reveal the history of choro before the camera, and share their experiences with us.
