Résumé
Thriller métadocumentaire à partir de la photographie d'une fille morte qui est apparue il y a des années dans les toilettes publiques de Recife.
This short movie recreates the urban legend of the Little Cotton Girl, a popular urban legend in Brazilian schools, during the 70's.
"Mendonça based his second horror film on the legend of ‘the cotton girl’: in the 1970s, a dead girl appeared in the public toilets in Recife, frightening everybody. She still startles people with her appearance in the shadows. This unusual meta-docu-thriller was rightly praised, partly thanks to its cinematographic qualities. The brilliantly crafted and closely edited (photographic) images suggest a shocking, slowed down motion. In combination with the strikingly meticulous sound mix, they emphasise the personal style of Mendonça."
