Résumé

Ce documentaire essaie de poser la question de la virginité des jeunes femmes iraniennes et leurs efforts pour conserver leur hymen intact jusqu’au mariage. Il tente de montrer le prix financier et psychologique que le régime est prêt à payer pour maintenir cette tradition, et met l'accent sur le mépris vis-à-vis des femmes. Leur personnalité est éclipsée par leur appartenance à ce sexe, et leur potentiel intellectuel en est négligé. De quoi se poser des questions sur une démocratie qui se veut tournée vers le progrès. Les lois et droits relatifs à la virginité sont un instrument d’oppression des femmes. Le prix à payer est terrible pour celles qui souhaitent concilier virginité et relations sexuelles.

This documentary tries to take a look at the question of virginity for Iranian girls and efforts to maintain intact hymen well before the marriage. This film aims to look into financial and psychological prices Iran’s traditional society pays to retain this tradition and keep it untouched. It wants to throw the spotlight on the fact that girls are insulted owing to their gender. Their identity is overshadowed by their sex and their mental and thinking potential is overlooked. Here is a society which claims it is marching towards modernism, and democracy is all there in full swing. Right here civil rights on virginity are employed to look down on females. It all comes as maidenhead and having sexual intercourse both come at a price for women and torture them.
