Résumé

Villalba est un petit village à la beauté baroque du centre de la Sicile. Isolé économiquement et physiquement la population vieillit. Les habitants racontent ce qui fut un passé prospère.

Villalba is a small village in the centre of Sicily that is a typicalreality of the Sicilian hinterland. It is characterised by physical andeconomical isolation, abandoned structures and where people liveonly on an old age pension. It's a village that is going to disappearbecause of the large migration to Albenga, a city in Liguria that ishome to a large Villalba community.
Once it was a special place because of its position being CalogeroVizzini's kingdom. He was the boss of the old feudal mafia that hadnow changed and moved from the centre to the coast.
This film tells, through the inhabitants' words, the story of thevillage and the current situation and the status of women and lifein the main square. Through the nature of the Sicilian people, wediscover in this remote location it holds all the problems andpeculiarities of the whole nation of Italy.
