A certain number of Nazi descendants live in Israel, sometimes anonymously. Some of them have converted to Judaism and have adopted its precepts. Some wear a yarmulke, are married to orthodox Jews, and their children go to yeshivas, the religious schools. These people were not born at the time of the Shoah and yet they seem to carry the weight of their ancestry. As if they felt responsible through their heredity. Michael M., grandson of Adolf Hitler’s half brother, is a professor of Jewish philosophy at the University of Tel-Aviv. He is married to an orthodox Jew. Coleen Rosenblatt, grand-daughter of Magda Goebbels, converted to Judaism and still lives in Germany. She is now the mother of a young jewish girl. Mattias Göring, Hermann Göring’s great-nephew, is currently going through the process of converting to judaïsm. He provides the film’s narrative thread. With him, we will experience directly everything that such a choice implies. Throughout the unfolding of his story, other testimonies will appear at key moments. When Mattias talks about repentance as a vital necessity for continuing to live, Michael M. refutes this idea and explains that conversion is a purely theological decision that has nothing to do with his origins
