"Découvrir la magie de l’île de Fogo (Terre-Neuve) à travers les yeux d’enfants. Comprendre pourquoi ses habitants se refusent à quitter ses côtes. L’émission "Challenge for Change" proposait à différentes populations d’utiliser le cinéma et la vidéo, dans le but de favoriser le changement social et de donner une voix aux sans-voix. Peu à peu, les habitants ont été davantage impliqués dans le processus de réalisation de ces émissions. Ils filmaient les événements et avaient aussi leur mot à dire sur le montage des films."

This short film from Colin Low presents the problems faced by the people of Fogo Island, Newfoundland and what keeps them committed to the land. Witness some of the magic of the island, as seen through the eyes of children, and understand why its inhabitants cling to its shores.
“Witness some of the magic of Fogo Island, Newfoundland, as seen through the eyes of the children, and understand why its inhabitants cling to its shores. Challenge for Change was a programme that allowed communities to use film and video to incite social change, and to give a voice to the voiceless. Film production was put increasingly into the hands of community members, who both filmed events and had a say in the editing of the films.”
