Résumé

Pas de résumé français disponible.

The film is about this phenomenal Holy Gospel (974 A.D.) which is one of those rare items which lives among ordinary people and communicates with them, being an integral part of their daily life and not a museum or archival exhibit.
The Holy Gospel was created by scribe Hovhannes on parchment in 974 A.D. in Erzerum, Armenia (Modern Turkey). During the Russian- Turkish war Archbishop Karapet lead the migration of Armenian families from Erzerum to Akhaltskha including Anakhas, the representative of the Saponjian family, who rescued the Gospel of Hovhannes throughout four years of looting and plunder on the way to Tsughrut.
The Gospel consists of 195 parchment sheets has silver binding depicting Jesus and the Apostles as well as scenes from the Bible. The villagers are convinced that the Holy Gospel is the guardian of the village and do not allow to take it out of the village.
