Résumé
À travers des échanges parfois houleux entre la réalisatrice et sa mère, deux points de vue se confrontent sur leur histoire commune, faite de séparations et de sacrifices.
"Through exchanges of words and memories, the director and her mother weave the threads and blind spots of their history of separation and sacrifice. Through images and silences, the two women come together and rethink the traces and traumas that bind them to the benefit of a liberation of speech.
The short documentary film Where Do I Belong? is a film that touches on the most particular, intimate and tragic thing we share. With a strong personal dimension, young director Koko Jordie stages a portrait of two women with unresolved pasts, where history and images intersect. A film that links the intimate and the collective by freeing the word, a film that initiates a decolonization of the gaze."
