Daniele Segre (born in 1952, Alexandria) moved at the age of eleven to Turin.
He represented his country in international gymnastic championships as a triple somersault specialist before specialising in photography in 1972.
He made his entry into the film world as a set photographer. His debut film Perché droga (1976) was greatly influenced by his photographic work.
His next two films as well as a photo book were dedicated to the theme of soccer vandalism. The problems of Turin's youth on the fringes of society has also remained a constant factor in his work.
Alongside films, Segre also makes documentaries and reports for the Italian television (RAI).
In 1981, he founded his own film production company, I Camelli.
